the first assignment of the class was to create an analog camera that used a lens to direct UV light to paper coated in cyanotype solution in order to create images.
my partner and i designed the Campera, a lightweight, modular, and portable camera. many parts of the camera are adjustable or interchangeable to the user's liking. the angle of the handle/stand, the focal length of the lens, and various masking filters that can be slotted on top of the paper, can all be changed to create one complete, convenient package.
the body is salvaged from large cardboard tubes. the adjustable pieces are 3D printed and held together with threaded inserts or threads that allow you to screw pieces on and off. the form was modeled on OnShape and Rhino 3D.
below are a series of cyanotype photograms from exercise one of 4.031.
